A 150 gsm merino tee, our lightest weight and the one to travel in. Merino manages moisture and resists odour, so it goes several wears between washes, which is what makes a small bag possible.
Flatlock seams sit flat under a pack strap. Machine wash cold, dry flat, no fabric softener.
The trade-off
Fine merino is less abrasion-resistant than synthetic. Treat it as clothing rather than equipment and it will last for years.
