The detail

An alpine pack, stripped to what a cold wet day actually needs: a 20,000 mm shell, taped seams, ice-axe loops, a rope strap under the lid, and gloved-hand buckles throughout.

The frame is deliberately minimal, which is how 45 litres comes in at 1.72 kg.

The trade-off

There is almost no internal organisation, and the minimal frame means it carries a heavy load less comfortably than the Trek Pro 50L. This is a final run and we are not restocking it.
