The detail
Our most protective shell. A three-layer construction rated to 20,000 mm hydrostatic head with 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability, fully taped seams, and YKK AquaGuard zips throughout.
The hood adjusts in three places and fits over a climbing helmet. Pit zips dump heat without opening the front. The hem sits below a pack hipbelt so water does not run in where the belt compresses the fabric, which is the usual failure point on a cheaper jacket.
The trade-off
Three-layer fabric is stiffer, noisier and less packable than a 2.5-layer shell, and this jacket is heavier than one. That is what buys a full day in driving rain.
