The detail

The same design as the Nomad 28L, ten litres larger. That is enough to change what the bag is for: a fortnight without laundry, or a week in winter clothing, rather than a disciplined carry-on trip.

Clamshell opening, the same externally-accessed 16-inch laptop sleeve, and two extra compression straps to hold the larger volume in shape when it is not full.

The trade-off

At 55 cm tall it is over the cabin limit for most carriers, so this is a checked bag that happens to be comfortable to carry. If cabin-only travel is the point of the trip, take the 28L and pack more carefully.
